Day two of the blizzard and all is safe and sound at Stoneridge . All power is on and residents awoke to the customary continental breakfast in the Jerry Brown Pub.
Residents watched as the 45 staff who remained overnight for their protection began doing their work clearing the roads and sidewalks even though no one was going anywhere. Our desk and phones were monitored and answered by Barbara ( a friendly face) at the main desk.
Lunch came with an array of comfort food casseroles, including crowd favorites, lasagna, franks and beans, and for the more sophisticated palate, braised lamb shanks, as well as other house specialties.
The afternoon plans include movies in the auditorium and more than a few competitive bridge games in the pub. Most residents seem content to just ride out the storm in the comfort of their Stoneridge home. A few residents may visit the exercise room to work off the comfort lunch.
