Each summer the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce hosts a professionally juried outdoor art show in downtown Mystic. According to the Chamber’s Web site, the show features, “More than 250 fine artists who exhibit oils, watercolors, photography, pastels, sculpture and acrylics.”
Other activities include a Spring Classic Concert, Riverfront Run and a River Fest Event with Dragon Boat Races, entertainment, children’s activities and refreshments.
Be sure to visit the Avalonia Land Trust (adjacent to StoneRidge), Olde Mistick Village, which is full of quaint shops, fine restaurants, a movie theatre and is an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll.
The Mystic River Drawbridge, Train Depot (with service to New York and Boston), and Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center are also not to be missed.
