Shopping and Dining
You’ll find a wide range of dining spots, multiple wineries, craft breweries, numerous unique shopping opportunities, and antique hunting galore throughout the entire Mystic area.
The Mystic area boasts a vibrant arts and cultural scene, with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra in nearby New London, the world-renowned Coast Guard Band in nearby New London and the Mystic Ballet company, plus a whole host of live theater venues throughout the region, including the Ivoryton Playhouse, the oldest summer theater in the nation. The Mystic Museum of Art showcases the works of local artists and houses a significant permanent collection, including the paintings of American Impressionist Charles Harold Davis, in its four galleries located on the west bank of the scenic Mystic River. The La Grua Center in Stonington hosts an eclectic mix of concerts, exhibits, and lectures.
If it’s natural beauty you’re seeking, StoneRidge is the place for you. Walking and bike trails weave their way throughout our beautiful 32 acres. Five state forests and nine state parks grace the entire Mystic region. We’re one and a half miles from the scenic Mystic River and only three miles from the waters of Long Island Sound. The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center in Mystic features a variety of educational programs, 10 miles of walking trails, and a natural history museum.
Just two miles from StoneRidge, you’ll find Mystic Seaport, a re-creation of a 19th-century seafaring village and the largest maritime museum in New England. The Mystic Aquarium features a wide variety of sea creatures, including African penguins and New England’s only exhibit of Beluga Whales.
