Virtual Event: Mystic Seaport’s Ship Models – Secrets & Stories

Join us on Wednesday, July 29 at 2:30 pm as Mystic Seaport’s Senior Curator Fred Calabretta provides a fascinating look behind the scenes at some of the finest and most unique ship models in Mystic Seaport’s collections.

Featured models will include a collection built by a skilled model maker who only had use of one hand; a Civil War ironclad built on the Mystic River; miniature models that attracted the interest of Walt Disney, and more.

Secrets of the model makers will also be revealed, including their use of “artist supplies” such as coat hangers, yardsticks, and tuna cans!
