StoneRidge Resident Trisha Grabel Celebrates the Opening of Her New Art Show

Residents of StoneRidge have many incredible talents, and recently, we were able to spotlight one resident in particular.

Trisha Grabel opened her new art show, Creative Expressions, on Saturday, November 11, in our community art gallery, and it couldn’t be more beautiful. Her art show features acrylic portraits, landscapes, seascapes, florals, and pets, all of which she painted in 2023.

Born in London, England, Trisha has had a passion for painting and art history for much of her life. Although she received “unsatisfactory” marks for her pre-teen efforts in art, she always knew that one day she would paint again. We’re biased, but we couldn’t be happier that she chose to share her paintings with us at StoneRidge!

Soon after marrying her American husband, Dan, she emigrated to the United States, and they resided in Manhattan. While in Manhattan, she attended art classes, graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a degree in liberal arts with a focus on art history, furthered her business career, and set her painting aside.

But after many years working in public relations, she retired, picked up her paintbrush again, and developed her own Expressionist style that aims to please viewers and incite their curiosities. Trisha has also exhibited her works in juried shows in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, and has volunteered as an educator and docent at the Katonah Museum of Art in Westchester County.

Creative Expressions is Trisha’s first art show at StoneRidge, and hopefully for us, not her last. In 2022, her retrospective exhibition at the Tapped Apple Cidery & Winery in Westerly garnered rave reviews in local print and electronic media outlets.

Thank you for sharing your remarkable work and vision with us, Trisha! You inspire our team and fellow residents each and every day.
